A Million Acts of Hope
We’re inviting you to join us. By donating just one Fairtrade item to your local food bank, you can support the farmers and workers behind your food and help families here in the UK at the same time.

What is A Million Acts of Hope?
A Million Acts of Hope is a national movement celebrating the people who choose hope, community and compassion - even when the world feels divided.
The campaign shines a light on the everyday hopeful acts happening across the UK: the neighbour who checks in, the volunteer who shows up, the community group offering warm spaces, shared meals or support to people in need.
From 13–20 May, the campaign invites people to take part in “the week that hope built” by carrying out simple, meaningful acts that lift others up.
How is Fairtrade involved?
Fairtrade is proud to stand alongside hundreds of organisations taking part in A Million Acts of Hope. Hope is at the centre of everything we do - hope for fairer trade, for climate justice, and for a world where farmers and workers are paid what they deserve.
By joining this campaign, we’re celebrating the people who make Fairtrade possible:
the farmers and workers who keep going despite climate shocks and unfair global systems
the supporters, campaigners and communities across the UK who choose Fairtrade products and take action for trade justice
the volunteers, teachers and Fairtrade Towns who keep hope alive in their local areas
How you can get involved
Pledge to donate to your local food bank
As part of Fairtrade's action with A Million Acts of Hope, we're asking you donate a single Fairtrade item to your local food bank, supporting the people who grow our food across the globe, and the people in the UK who need it most.
Most local supermarkets have an in-store food bank, but you can also visit The Trussell Trust for more information on where your local food bank is and how to donate.
