Fairtrade International expresses its deep concern for the people of Colombia following the devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck the country. We stand in solidarity with the victims, their families, and everyone affected.

Fairtrade’s producer network in the region, the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Fair Trade Small Producers and Workers, is reaching out and coordinating support where possible to impacted producers, particularly as the earthquake’s epicentre was in the southwestern part of the country where we have certified coffee and cocoa producer organisations.

There are 139 Fairtrade certified producer organisations in Colombia who work in coffee, cocoa, bananas, other fruits, and the sugar sectors.
