So setzt Fairtrade Standards
Die Fairtrade-Standards sind so konzipiert, dass sie den Bedürfnissen von Bäuerinnen und Bauern, Beschäftigten, Handelsunternehmen und anderen Interessengruppen gerecht werden. Sie werden in einem transparenten Prozess festgelegt, der umfassende Konsultationen mit allen Beteiligten sowie mit externen Expertengremien umfasst.
Standards Committee
Final standard decisions are voted upon by the Standards Committee, a multi-stakeholder body within Fairtrade International. Fifty percent of the committee members are producer representatives, so we can ensure that the perspectives of all relevant Fairtrade stakeholders are equally taken into account.

ISEAL Code of Good Practice for Standard Setting
Fairtrade Standards are set in compliance with the ISEAL code of Good Practice. Sounds good, but what does it mean?
- Consultations with major stakeholders within Fairtrade provide the basis of all standard setting.
- Fairtrade International sets the Standards and supports producers in meeting them, but certification and regular audits are handled by FLOCERT as a separate certification organisation.

Fairtrade International has successfully demonstrated overall compliance with ISEAL’s Code of Good Practice for Setting Social and Environmental Standards version 6.0, and has been formally approved by the ISEAL Membership Committee in May 2016.

Standard-Komitee
Die endgültigen Entscheidungen über die Standards werden vom Standard-Komitee getroffen, einem Gremium bestehend aus mehreren Interessengruppen innerhalb von Fairtrade International. Fünfzig Prozent der Komiteemitglieder sind Produzentenvertreter*innen – so wird sichergestellt, dass die Perspektiven aller relevanten Fairtrade-Stakeholder gleichermaßen berücksichtigt werden.
Die Arbeit an den Fairtrade-Standards
Fairtrade International veröffentlicht jedes Jahr die Pläne und Zeitrahmen für die Entwicklung und Überprüfung der Standards und Preise.

ISEAL: Der Kodex für gute Praxis bei der Standardsetzung
Die Fairtrade-Standards werden in Übereinstimmung mit dem ISEAL-Kodex festgelegt, der ein einheitliches Fundament für glaubwürdige Standard-Systeme schafft. Konkret bedeutet das:
- Die Konsultationen mit den wichtigsten Interessengruppen innerhalb von Fairtrade bilden die Grundlage für die Festlegung der Standards.
- Fairtrade International legt die Standards fest und unterstützt die Produzentenorganisationen bei deren Einhaltung. Die Zertifizierung selbst sowie die regelmäßigen Audits werden von der unabhängigen Zertifizierungsorganisation FLOCERT durchgeführt.

Fairtrade International hält nachweislich den ISEAL Code of Good Practice for Setting Social and Environmental Standards, Version 6.0, vollumfänglich ein und wurde im Mai 2016 vom ISEAL Membership Committee offiziell anerkannt.

Zertifizierung
Damit ein Produkt das Fairtrade-Siegel tragen kann, müssen alle Produzentenorganisationen, Händler, Hersteller, Verarbeiter und Unternehmen, die am Kauf oder Verkauf beteiligt sind, zertifiziert sein – vom Anbau oder der Gewinnung bis hin zum verpackten Produkt, das im Handel erhältlich ist.

Für wen es Fairtrade-Standards gibt
Die Fairtrade-Standards sind auf die Lebens- und Arbeitsbedingungen von Bauernkooperativen, Beschäftigten in Großbetrieben oder Fabriken, kleingewerblichen Bergleuten sowie Händlern und Unternehmen, die Fairtrade-Produkte kaufen und verkaufen, zugeschnitten.
Aktuelle Fairtrade-Mindestpreise und -Prämien
Produzentenorganisationen, die ihre Produkte über Fairtrade verkaufen, profitieren vom finanziellen Sicherheitsnetz des Fairtrade-Mindestpreises und erhalten zusätzlich die Fairtrade-Prämie, die sie in Projekte ihrer Wahl investieren können.
