Connect to Canada’s Fair Trade Movement

By offering Fairtrade products, your business becomes part of a national movement that’s growing every year. Across Canada, foodservice partners are working with Fair Trade programs that bring people together around ethical consumption. Fair Trade Programs include: Fair Trade Campuses: Colleges and universities where Fairtrade products are part of student life and food services. Fair Trade Schools: Empowering students and educators to make a difference through everyday choices. Fair Trade Towns: Municipalities working toward sustainability through public policy, procurement, and community engagement. Foodservice businesses play a key role in these programs—whether you’re located on campus, catering for schools, or supplying to local municipalities.

Brew fair—with the Fairtrade Micro-Roaster Program

If your café or restaurant serves Fairtrade-certified coffee—and you roast in-house or source from a small roaster—the Fairtrade Micro-Roaster Program is a great way to showcase your commitment. Fairtrade Canada’s Micro-Roaster Program highlights cafés and restaurants offering Fairtrade-certified coffee, so Canadians can choose businesses that share their values and support coffee farmers through every cup. The program is designed for small roasters transforming Fairtrade-certified green coffee, with an affordable annual contribution based on volume purchased from certified traders. In return, you’ll gain access to: ● Recognition through Fairtrade Canada’s promotional channels ● Use of the FAIRTRADE Mark to promote your offering ● Resources to help you share your Fairtrade story with customers

Bringing Fairtrade to the workplace

The Fair Trade Workplace designation recognizes offices and organizations that serve Fairtrade-certified products—like coffee, tea, and chocolate—as part of their commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing. For out-of-home businesses, this is a growing opportunity: whether you supply offices, manage corporate catering, or run a café in a workplace setting, offering Fairtrade options can help you meet client expectations and align with their social responsibility goals.
