Global survey on the impact of European Union compliance requirements on organic small-scale producers
The survey, launched by Fairtrade International and FiBL, will help identify the real burdens producers are facing and inform possible support measures. If you’re part of a small-scale producer organisation, learn how you can take part and make your voice heard.
Recent European Union regulations, such as the European Organic Regulation (EUOR) and the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), are also creating new requirements for supply chains outside the European Union.
That is why Fairtrade International and FiBL have launched a global survey to better understand how these changes are affecting small producer organisations, especially in terms of costs, operational burden, and other challenges in the field.
Although the study focuses especially on organic cocoa, we are also keen to gather information from other organic smallholder sectors, such as coffee, fruit, and nuts.
The information collected will help identify the real burdens producers are facing, generate evidence, and inform possible support measures, as well as discussions on fair prices and more practical implementation of these regulations.
Call to participate:
If you are part of a small producer organisation or work with small-scale producers outside the European Union, your participation is important. We need to hear directly from those who are experiencing these changes on the ground. Responding to the survey will help make visible the real costs, burden, and difficulties producers are facing, and support the search for fairer and more viable solutions.
We invite you to take part and to share the survey with other producer organisations so that more voices can be taken into account.
The survey is open until 31 May and is available in English, Spanish, and French. Please follow the links to take part:
