Cocoa farmer income: The household income of cocoa farmers in Côte d'Ivoire and strategies for improvement
Cocoa household income study
Following previous studies in 2017 and 2020, this study was conducted by Impact Institute to measure cocoa farmer household incomes in Côte d’Ivoire. In addition to financial trends, the study collected qualitative data to examine the broader impact of Fairtrade interventions and gain insights on what drives farm productivity, challenges in cocoa production, income drivers, and farmer satisfaction with participation in Fairtrade certified cocoa cooperatives. Information from sharecroppers was also separately analysed. The English version of the study is available via the download link below. The French version and summaries in English and French are available as supplementary documents
