Fairtrade America's 2025 Highlight Reel

  • 12.18.25

Reflections on the progress, partnerships, and impact we made in 2025.

2025 was a momentous year. Fairtrade America grew partnerships, certified new products, and created powerful moments of visibility that brought farmers’ stories directly to shoppers.

At the center of our work are the farmers whose leadership and dedication make Fairtrade possible. Their vision, innovation and farming expertise ensures that Fairtrade is not just a certification, but a long-term partnership working to shift global trade systems toward fairness and dignity.

As we look back on 2025, we’re proud of our collective effort to create more transparent supply chains that help farmers earn a fairer price for the products we enjoy every day.

Fairtrade in the Times

In February, we traveled with Peter S. Goodman – a global trade journalist – to Honduras to visit Fairtrade coffee cooperatives. His story landed on the front page of the business section of the New York Times, which is one of the most respected, trusted, and widely read newspapers in the world.

3 news murals for Fairtrade Month

For Fairtrade Month, we unveiled three new murals in Coralville, Richmond, and Sioux Falls, alongside a range of online and in-store activations connecting shoppers to the people behind products like cocoa, vanilla, and spices. Over 180 retailers hosted Fairtrade signage in their stores, and partner posting allowed us to reach a potential of 2M+ views on social media!

Feastables launch

We had a groundbreaking launch this year as we welcomed Feastables as a Fairtrade-certified product! Founded by Jimmy Donaldson, better known by his YouTube and social media moniker, MrBeast, our launch with Feastables drew over 124 million views across channels. MrBeast currently holds the largest YouTube following (400M+ followers), and we’re excited about the momentum this partnership will bring to the Fairtrade movement in the years ahead.

Social media storytelling with farm-fluencers

We worked with “farm-fluencers” Felix Tetteh, a 27-year-old cocoa farmer from Ghana, and Ana Polo Aguilar, a 35-year-old banana farmer from Ecuador, to show global audiences what being a farmer is like.

Ibu Rahmah visited her mural in Buffalo, NY

The power and impact of our Fairtrade murals came full circle as our partners at Grace Farms and Gimme! Coffee invited Ibu Rahmah, the founder and chairwoman of the KOPEPI Ketiara Cooperative in Indonesia, to see the mural that celebrates her story in Buffalo, NY.

New products launched

Partnering with American businesses on sustainable sourcing expands farmers’ market access and the availability of certified products. This, in turn, improves quality of life and strengthens farmers’ ability to invest in their businesses and communities. This year, we added more than 500 new Fairtrade products to the U.S. market, expanding the visibility of the Fairtrade Mark and mission on shelves and in stores across the country.

Our team attended lots of events!

Our Commercial Partnerships team attended 16 tradeshows and conferences this year, developing relationships with current and prospective partners. Our Executive Director, Amanda Archila, spoke at several events, including the Specialty Coffee Association Expo in Houston where she accepted the Association's Non-Profit Sustainability Award on behalf of Fairtrade International.

Hu Kitchen spoke at the Cocoa Forum in Peru

We expanded our brand partnership with Hu this year, highlighted by their participation in this year’s Cocoa Forum in Lima, Peru. CEO Dan Waters spoke to the importance of Fairtrade values and Hu’s commitment to ethical sourcing.

New team members

Our team saw significant growth this past year, welcoming five new faces to our internal team and five new members to our Board of Directors. Fairtrade America’s Board of Directors now consists of nine members, who join us from leadership roles in sustainable business from across the country. We look forward to their expertise in helping shape the future.

Holding policymakers accountable

We delivered insight on a number of newsworthy decisions from the White House in 2025. From shedding light on how the Bureau of International Labor Affairs’ (ILAB) funding cuts undermine the fight against child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking to advocating for tariff repeals, Fairtrade contextualized the consequences of U.S. policy decisions for smallholder farmers and their communities, small businesses, consumers, and the supply chains we rely on every day.
