Fairtrade International launched a programme in 2023 to support cocoa producer organisations to strengthen prevention and remediation of child labour and forced labour. This is the second report of this programme's progress. It includes updated information on Fairtrade cooperatives approved for funding in the first and second round of disbursements, showing significant progress since the first report. Several projects have now been completed, including classroom construction, school renovations, and bicycle distribution programmes. The completed projects have demonstrated measurable impact, with producer testimonials highlighting improved school attendance and reduced risk of child labour. As anticipated, independent monitoring and evaluation on a section of projects funded by the programme is expected to be carried out in late 2025.
