New leadership Announcement at Fairtrade NAPP!

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Bindu Sukumarapillai as the new Chief Executive Officer of Fairtrade NAPP effective 18.12.2024 and Hagung Hendrawan as the Chief new Operating Officer of Fairtrade NAPP effective 16.01.2025.

Bindu Sukumarapillai brings over 20 years of experience as an accomplished agriculture professional and has made significant contributions to the agriculture, rural, and sustainable developmental sector. With a Master’s degree in Agricultural Science, she has dedicated her career to empowering farmer groups across Asia through grass-root capacity building and sustainable practices. Bindu’s expertise spans ethical certification, organizational development, organic agriculture, horticultural research, Resource Mobilisation, and project management. Her work reflects a deep passion for fostering sustainable farming practices and improving livelihoods in rural communities.

Since joining Fairtrade NAPP in 2018, she has played a transformative role in advancing funding initiatives, strengthening partnerships, and spearheading impactful advocacy efforts that have directly benefited producers and workers. During her seven-month tenure as Interim COO, her leadership delivered exceptional results, earning unanimous recognition from the Board, which appointed her as CEO. We are proud to have a strong woman leader representing Fairtrade NAPP at the highest level, and under her visionary guidance, we are confident the organization will continue to grow and thrive in its mission to create a fairer, more sustainable future.

Hagung Hendrawan Trudo is a seasoned expert in sustainable coffee supply chains, trading, and farmer organization development, with over 15 years of global experience within the Fairtrade Organization providing producer support and commercial-related programs. In these roles, Hagung has concentrated on increasing Fairtrade sales, developing business strategies, and strengthening certified supply chain partnerships. His leadership extends to global coffee strategy development, ensuring compliance with international standards such as the EUDR, and managing impactful programs. During his tenure at Fairtrade NAPP, he managed producer services in Indonesia and the Philippines under the Producer Service and Program department.

Hagung holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies and brings practical expertise to promoting sustainable supply chains globally. His deep understanding of producers' needs, coupled with his strategic vision, has driven numerous successful projects and initiatives.
