This report summarises data on Fairtrade certified organisations, farmers and workers, production, and Fairtrade Premium earned across all products during 2022. For instance, 1,910 Fairtrade producer organisations representing more than 2 million farmers and workers earned €222.8 million in Fairtrade Premium in 2022.

A sustainable future starts with sustainable food systems. This new policy defines how Fairtrade understands sustainability socially, economically, and environmentally. It enables us to equally focus our efforts on all three dimensions and seeks to advance Fairtrade’s work in the environmental sphere.

Fairtrade commissioned the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and DIMES Consultancy to undertake the study, focusing on coffee farmers from Ethiopia and Colombia, and banana producers from Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
