Rice is one of the most important agricultural crops and the staple food across the Asia Pacific region where over 90 percent of the world’s rice is produced. In Thailand, rice production represents a significant portion of the country’s economy and labour force. It is the world's second-largest exporter of rice with the fifth-largest amount of land under rice cultivation. Fairtrade Network of Asia and Pacific Producers currently supports 10 Fairtrade rice producer organizations in Thailand with numerous social, economic, & environmental developments.
