Fairtrade's mission and vision provide the overarching goals and ambition of our system, while our constitution details the formal basis of our Germany-based non-profit association.

The General Assembly – an annual gathering of representatives from across the Fairtrade system – makes key decisions about the Fairtrade system, and ratifies our Board of Directors.

Through a broad consultation with internal and external stakeholders, Fairtrade develops a global strategy to focus our system's efforts. Our current strategy is for the period from 2021-2025. The Fairtrade Executive Team (FET) guides Members in the operational delivery of Fairtrade 2025 strategic ambitions. The FET is made of the CEOs from the three PNs, three CEOs from the NFOs, and the FI CEO. The FET works as a collegiate body and strives to make the best operational decisions for Fairtrade, for our producers, consumers, and commercial partners.
