Standard for Contract Production
This is the standard for small-scale producers who are not yet democratically organized.
As a temporary measure, they can join Fairtrade if they have a partnership with an organization (such as an exporter or NGO) who will assist them to form an independent organization.
The Contract Production Standard applies to cocoa in the Pacific; rice and cotton in India; and cotton, dried fruit, almonds, apricot seeds and walnuts in Pakistan.
For dried fruits, almonds, apricot seeds and walnuts nuts in Pakistan the standard is only applicable for existing certified operators.
The Standard is also extended to selected rotational crops produced in rotation with or as intercrops in cotton and rice for producers who are certified for cotton and rice in India and cotton in Pakistan.

This standard applies to all contract production operators certified by Fairtrade and is valid from 1 March 2014. It comes into force on 1 April, 2014 and will be applied to all audits from that date onward. It supersedes all previous versions.

Oilseeds and Oleaginous fruit / Semillas y frutos oleaginosos / Graines et fruits oléagineux
Fairtrade oilseeds and oleaginous fruits include coconuts, olives and olive oil, soya beans, natural white sesame seed and shea tree nuts which are defined as dried and roasted shea kernels processed into shea butter.
Note: for coconuts worldwide (except Oceania): secondary products of coconuts include the water, the husk and the shell and derivatives of these products.
Prepared and Preserved Fruit and Vegetables / Frutas y Verduras Preparadas y Conservadas / Les Fruits et les Légumes Preparés et Conservés
This Standard includes all types of dried fruit, fruit juices and dried vegetables for which Fairtrade Prices exist. For traders, it also includes fruits which have been processed in the supply chain that were originally certified under the Fresh Fruit Standard.
