Fairtrade’s Small Producer Organisation guidelines for Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence work
Brief overview of tender
Fairtrade International along with the Fairtrade Centre of Excellence on Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence is issuing a tender to devise guidelines and training outlines & materials that support Small Producer Organisations (SPOs) in designing and implementing and implementing:
- human rights commitment and policy (step 1)
- human rights risk assessment conducted in year 0 and repeated every 3rd year (step 2)
- plan for mitigating and preventing human rights harms (step 3)
- human rights-based grievance mechanism (step 4)
These materials will be utilized by Fairtrade Producer Networks (PNs) when supporting SPOs staff and lead farmers. They will also guide the future development of our Standards and Assurance work.
