Producer Business Unit

The Producer Business Unit (PBU) at FLO was set up in 2005 to provide Fairtrade-certified producers all the information they need to strengthen their businesses and seize new market opportunities. PBU officers also offer support and advice to producers facing marketing and export challenges.

Within the PBU there are four Regional Managers, responsible for all developments within their assigned geographical area. Working with them are 7 Regional Coordinators with specific country responsibilities. Africa has two Regional Managers, one responsible for Southern Africa, and one covering the North, East and West.

PBU also has a Liaison Development Department (LDD) which deals with the strategic development of a sustainable Producer Support and Producer Liaison function. Moreover, it coordinates the development of information and training inputs to strengthen the position of Fairtrade Certified Producers both in the Fairtrade market and Fairtrade governance.
