    Fairtrade producers are in Lima, Peru for the COP20 urging governments to provide more support in fighting the increasing effects of climate change. As government negotiations continue, many smallholders are already finding ways to adapt their farming methods to a changing climate, but more needs to be done.

    Pioneering work on a new living wage methodology has resulted in three reports setting benchmarks for rural South Africa, Dominican Republic and Malawi. The new methodology, commissioned by Fairtrade International and others is a major step forward and can be used in rural and urban areas.
