Producer Certification Fund
FLO International has created a fund to help Small Farmers' Organizations pay for their Fairtrade certification. Please check FLO-CERT website for information on Certification fees: www.flo-cert.net
Overview of the criteria
Eligible are all Small Farmers' Organizations applying for initial Fairtrade certification or renewing their certification, but lacking sufficient financial resources to pay the full certification fee.
Grants never fully covers certification fees and are intended as co-financing support. 1st grade Small Farmers' Organizations may receive a grant of up to a maximum 75 % of their fee, 2nd and 3rd grade Small Farmers' Organizations may receive up to a maximum of 50 % of their fee. It cannot be guaranteed that these rates always apply, as in the case of large number of applications these percentages might be reduced to allow more producers to benefit from a grant.
When do we apply for a grant?
You may apply for a grant once you have received an invoice for an inspection from FLO-CERT GmbH.
Applications can be sent throughout the year. Applications received are reviewed six times a year, typically at the end of January, March, May, July, September, and November. You can find the exact dates in the fund guidelines.

What happens once the application is sent?
You will receive a letter confirming that your application has been received. Your application will be evaluated after the respective application review deadline (please see the guidelines for the exact date). Within 28 days following that date you will be informed of your application´s status.
